Sample Schedule (First 2 Weeks)
Brooder Preparation
Disinfect brooder house. Install heat lamps (one 60W bulb per 20 chicks). Bedding: 5 cm wood shavings. Pre-heat house to 32–35 °C before chick arrival.
Chick Reception
Receive day-old pullet chicks. Offer glucose water (5 g/litre) for first 6 hours, then chick mash ad libitum. Weigh a sample of 20 chicks (target: 35–40 g at Day 1).
Newcastle Vaccination (Lasota Eye-Drop)
Vaccinate against Newcastle Disease by eye-drop. Record vaccine batch and expiry date. Restrict water 2 hours before vaccination.
Gumboro (IBD) Vaccine
Administer Gumboro vaccine in drinking water. All birds must drink within 2 hours.
Temperature Reduction & Feed Transition
Reduce brooder temperature to 27–28 °C. Begin transitioning to chick grower mash (18% protein). Weigh 20 chicks (target: 120–140 g).
